Our readings during Lent present several personal encounters with Jesus: Nicodemus, the leader of the Pharisees; the unnamed woman at the well; the unnamed man born blind; and his dear friend Martha, sister of Mary and Lazarus. Each of these people leaves these interactions changed in some way, usually with a deeper understanding of who Jesus is and who he or she is. On Thursday mornings 10–11 am, we will step into these encounters and explore them in more detail, especially the unique pattern of each conversation and the message each has for us as we encounter Jesus ourselves.
